Bit of a Problem

Post by Dash »

Took the car into the garage today to get the coilovers set up correctly

One side was sitting in and rubbing on the spring, the other side was sitting out and there wasnt a problem.

So, go back a couple of hours later, and theres a few problems.

The Allesios are from a Corrado ? and will not fit on the car with the coilovers set up correctly?

Only way to recify the problem is gettin the steelies back on and having the suspension set up, but i wont be able to use my allesios, he said the maximum size you will get on the car is 15" with a low profile.

Also have a lovely golf ball size bulge in my rear left.

Dunno what to do, one of my mates has suggested I set the car back to normal and sell it on again, and with the current market being in favour of old shape corsas it does sound like a good idea!

Bear in mind the car is:

1997 R facelift.
42k miles
GLS
2 previous owners
full service history
immaculate body work.

I reckon i could get 1800-2000 for it.

No can do. I bought a few. 2x10mm 2x5mm 2x3mm.

Ive tried using a 10+3mm, however, the wheel does not sit on the hub when that many are used, the most i can go to is 10mm.

Ive got the steelies back on :( Image

Gonna get the suspension set up with them on it, put the speedys back on and see what the situation is.

Also, gave Speedline a phone and got product codes for 6.5x16 ET49 4x100 Allesios, and mine match fine, so fingers crossed whenI get the car back tommorow my wheels fit on, only reason I can think of that they didnt before was because of the camber adjustment on the coilovers.
