Hello everyone!!
Im new to all this and just need some advice on gaining more bhp from my car.
Ive got a 1.6 16v corsa sport (ecotec) and the only thing ive done so far is put a ramair carbon fibre induction kit in.
I know as stock its bout 106 bhp and with my induction kit ill be lucky if im getting 110bhp.
My question is where do i start and what are the best ways to gain bhp without spending thousands?
Need advice on increasing performance!!!

first thing to look at doin is changing the inlet manifold for a dbilas 1 they cost around 900 quid for 22bhp BUT you need to get rid of the standard inlet. try jam-sport.co.uk they offered to make me a replica for arround 450.

dbilas/mantzel will release up to 20-25bhp, straight through exhaust, remap, cams.
other than the dbilas/mantzel the other items are relatively widely accessable at a resonible price
but wit the remap u will spend so much on it and only get a couple of bhp, as if u fitted the rest of the items then had a dbilas inlet fitted they offer a remap wit the kit.
hope this helps

Re: Need advice on increasing performance!!!
new inlet will give a few bhp around 20
dbilas, mantzel,
lexmaul<>will give about 15bhp
then a a exhaust manifold, janspeed, protech etc, i have a janspeed it gives more torque and doesnt sit as low as the protech one
sports cat, and a cat back stainless steel exhaust system
couple all that to a re-map, you will be looking about 140bhp i rekon
you can get higher bhp but your torque will tail off.
140 is useable power, after that your looking at t/b's seperate engine management etc

Re: Need advice on increasing performance!!!
thanks to everyone who replied.
Ive had a look at your recommendation's and its gona cost quite a bit to do all that so for now im looking at doing little things like a power boost valve and getting some decent spark plugs and ht leads.
is this worth doing? will it cause me problems? has anyone else got any ideas for low priced tuning?
i know im not gona get anything like a 40bhp increase i just want to start of with the cheap parts first.
thanks
