induction kit for my corsa b 1.7d

hi there, ive got a 1998 corsa b, 5 door, ls 1.7d, recently i bought an induction kit for it, the kit is suited to the engine (isuzu) so its not a run of the mill universal one, i was going to fit it but then got told this by sum1 on my local car forum,,,

"dont do it to a diesel it will rouine the engine management system as you car has a vacuum pump being a diesel the air sensor will not know what hit it and will cause you serious problems in the future in my opinion diesel engines are best left untouched apart from remapping,it will also mess up your emissions and may fail your mot because the air flow meter will not be reciving the figures"

now i dont know anything about this, but what does cross my mind is why would they make an induction kit for my car model if the above problems would occur, ,, can anyone help please, and tell me whether i shopuld fit it and if these problems and genuine ones???,

hey up pal, right if your new kit fits so that the air flow sensor stays on youll be fine otherwise the car wont run let alone fail an mot,plus why wud it fail? it wud be running lean not rich so wud be ok. as far as im aware youll be ok but iv not actualy seen one so cant say. i work for vauxhall and those problems sound a bit daft to me!! fit it n c wudbe my advise you can always go back, diesels run on air not fuel like petrols do so shud notice a difference, hope this helps

hi there, wel i fitted it the other day, it went on perfectly, and i left my old cold air feed pipe, i havent noticed any engine pronlems, (noises, temperature etc), and although it doesnt make that much difference its a better noise!, thanks for putting my mind at rest mate, i was a bit wary incase those problems were genuine! but like you say just gta see how it goes, and at the moment its fine! well dunno realy there shouldnt be any but if sumthing happens that didnt happen b4 then you'd luk at the filter first wouldnt you? like i say i can't c it being a problem mate

only thing i can think of what may have been an issue was a turbocharger, but since the 1.7d dosnt have 1 u should be fine
also i thought all none turbo corsa b diesels wer mechanical not ecu driven so it shouldnt really make a diffrence
