Hi im just about to buy an amp and a sub and i want to wire it up myself. If anyone has any descriptions or pictures or diagrams of how to do this i would be very gratefull. Pictures would be best as im better at seeing then doing rather than reading then doing.
Cheers

Re: please help amp sub questions
best advise i can give you is run your power cables down the right hand side of your car, and the speaker cables down the left hand side not the other way round or you'lll get bad interfearance!!
if you dont feel confedent in taking your interior to pieces to get this fitted, then seak out a expert and get them to do it! yes it will cost you some cash but they will hide all the wires and make it sound the best they can with what you give them!
sorry i cant be more helpfull, i would offer my serveses in helping install one for you but i dont normally help peeps who aren't within a 10mile radius of me :/ sorry

Re: please help amp sub questions
its al to do with were the power cables are...
if your going to do it right you should pull all your seats out and pull the carpet up.. but i dounght you have the time for that..
if you run the phono leads (blue speaker wires) down the right hand side of the car you run them by the PCM/ECU so when your cars not running they will be fine but as soon as you start the car you will get some crazy feedback that will drive you nutts, its nicknames alternator whine as the pitch raises and falles with the Rpm.
just run your power cable down by the PCM/ECU and the phono leads and RCM lead (thin blue one) down the left hand side of your car, cant really go wrong.
(i ended up drilling a small hole in the bottom of the N/S boot trim to hide the wires better)
hope this helps you!

Re: please help amp sub questions
cheers buddy i started last night but i just couldnt get the power cable through the little rubber bit so i will try again tonight but instead of just putting a screwdriver through i'll use a corcsrew so the rubber stays out. ive just put a new pioner head unit in aswell and all the cables for sub are fix up and ready so i just need to run it down the side and get the power cable through.
cheers

Re: please help amp sub questions
The rubber grommet should pull through fairly easily allowing safe cutting of a hole with a set of side cutters or similar.

Re: please help amp sub questions
Ive got all the cables ran down the side and tonight im going to put the end bits on and finally attach it. in the end i just drilled through the gromit, kept the bit in ther got a stanley knife and touched each side so it split a bit more then attached the wire to a bit of bike brake cable with gaffa tape put wd40 both sides of the holes and used som pliers to pull the cable through. Cheers for all the help. I'll post some pics of it installed when done.
