NS driveshaft on my 94 SRi was apparently shot at 92k when it was advised at MOT in 2004. Now its done 103k and above 30, theres a virbration that gets real bad at 45 and smooths out but still there when faster. What am I looking at here cost wise? Im no mechanic so wud need to pay labour aswell.
Is this even common?

Re: driveshaft replacement
if the cars been driven hars (wheels spinned a lot) then this will happen,
if your round my ways then i'll ahve a look at it for you, but if its just a new drive shaft it shouldnt be to bad to replace and you could most prolly do it yourself,
cost wise most places might want around a oner for replacing this

Re: driveshaft replacement
Im definatly no mechanic so its way beyond my capabilities!
Im the 6th owner so it wouldnt suprise me if it had been thrashed although engine itself seems to run well.
Im in Northampton.
Is that £100 labour or parts aswell?
Thanks for your help! I was starting to hate the car already!
While im thinking about it, the connection to the LCD display for clock etc doesnt seem very reliable and even when plugged in firmly just comes adrift - any suggestions?
