hi everyone
i know this isnt about a corsa but all of u guys know what ur talking about so i thought id ask you.
my mates left me his punto with some gmax -40mm springs and shockers and some ebc brakes with greenstuff pads.
im wondering how easy it is to fit the springs. i have a lot of experience working with cars but ive never lowered one. and i havent done a lot with puntos.
is it an easy job. it just looks like a couple of bolts but i dont know.
also in the box it says you must shorten the original bumpstops by 20mm. am i right in saying that these are just bushes?? and do you just take them out and cut 20mm off them and stick them back on.

you guys have helped me loads before and im sure u wont let me down.

ive told him to get a corsa cos there so much easier to work on and ive ever had any trouble with mine

should be pretty easy to fit,
usualy the damper has a few bolts in the car to undo and a few at the wheel, then it will just drop out.
you will need some spring clamps as the springs are already under tenstion on the strut and if you try to dismantle it, it might be painfull!
should be alright with the standard bumpstops as your not lowering that much,. but if ya wanted just get some shorter ones and the brushes shouldnt need to mess with them

id say corsa is propably easier to lower as the rear strut and spring are seprate.
took me and a friend about 5 hours end to end to do it right,
also my example is going off my corsa so if its diffrent on the punto dont blame me!
should get a haynes manual that should show you how to remove and re-fit them :)

thanks a lot for ur help.
ive got some spring compressors for the springs so i think i have everything. and i thik my mate was getting a haynes manual.
ill let u know how it goes anyway, ill be doing them on saturday i think.

ok i got it done.
it was an easy job. not hard at all. it was just all the bolts were as rusty as hell and getting them off was te biggest task
im thinking of doing mine now

what kit do you think i should get if im lowering it 60mm and u dont think it will be to low for speed bumps etc. do u. ive got 15" wheels on so there wont be no problems either will there

i havent got any side skirts or a body kit on it so the body work is standard

you will rub like a bugger with peeps in the back, and you will be going like a snale around speed bumps, i dont think you have to lower a car more than 40mm when you live in a urban area.

what do u think i should get then if i lower it 40mm.
are they all roughly the same

40mm on 15" is good they can also house 16" with a lower profile tyre, without to many problems.

might have to end up rolling your arches in the end but nothing to bad.

i had mine lowered 60mm was quite a nightmare to drive seen as i live on a road with speed bumps and with 60mm rear it was always rubbing even with one person in the back, got it lowered 50mm on front and 40mm on back now and handles mint.

Anyone a spare set of fk 60mm springs going. I'd like to lower the back of mine more.
