changing the switch on the rad
my rad switch is broken and needs replacing is it particularly easy to change if i just get one from the scrap yard??

only a few quid for a new sensor, and it will take you about 10 minuits to change

If your quick enough you won't even need to drain the coolant. Just top it up and run the car up till the fan cuts in.
