Fog Light/Indicator Light Flashing

Wondering if anyone can help!
Everytime I am indicating right and when I apply the brake the Fog Light on the dashboard flashes and the indicator slows down.
I had a look at what it is like at the back of the car when this happens and all of the light illumantes and flashes.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

It could be a bad earth connection somewhere

bad earth or short circut
a friend of mine had this on her mk1 punto

turns out all the wiring in the rear lights was wrapped in tin-foil (god knows why) must have been done by the fella who she got it from...
maybe try lookin in the lights see if any of the circuts are shorting or if the contacts have rusted together
