Please Help 96 Corsa Fault

Now then,

Bought a P reg 1.2ls today and i drove it tonight but i think theres something wrong!!

It was alright when i was first driving it but then the alternator belt started squeeling at me then it suddenly stopped. When it stopped, the headlights went very dim and the dials started playing up. The speedo was dropping to 0mph then going back up to the speed i was doing. The petrol guage dropped to say i had no petrol even though i had over half a tank. Now the speedo is stuck on 0mph all the time.

I've check to see if the alternator belt has snapped but it's still on and spinning fine.

The car had been sat for 2 month before i bought it. Could this be the problem?

The car wouldn't start this morning so i've got the battery on charge in the meantime!!!!!

nw then m8,if its still doing it,i think the squeeling is the fan belt coz mine did that,it may look fine in parts u can see but on the underneath it myt b knackered,if it still squeelin try it,i can get ya 1 fitted for bout a fiver

ere gash!!! did you ever think about lookin at the date??

it was last december man!!! a got that sorted within a few days of it doing it.

bought a new alternator and belt and fitted em meself, only cost us about £40 alltogether
