corsa 1.5td 5mph less in 1st and second gear

my corsa 1.5td is doing 5mph less in first and second gear there doent seem to be any other faults witht the car what so ever does this sound like a gear problem to any one or could it be something else. if so where do i find a new gear box for my car?

how many miles has the car done? and does it get used hard?

128000 miles still does 70 in 3rd and 100 in 4th though so u dunno what the problem is...

if the cars been used hard then you will find it wont go as quick as the engine is old and tired,and 128k is quite high millage.

thikning of doing an engine rebuild with my dad if i can find an engine cheap!! then should be very fast if i do it as my dad is an expert when it comes to engines!! lol

then again with it bein a diesel it will last longer than a petrol engine
