1.4 corsa power help

hi i have just bought a 93 1.4 corsa ls, the acceleration is ok spot on but icant get her over 90 mph, i think she is just a 1.4 it doesnt say anything on the log book about it being a 8 valver or 16 valver, am at a loss to what it is , im not expecting 130+ ect but up near a 100 + would be a start. any ideas?

my little 1.2 vegas was the same, would hit 90 and would not budge higher even goin down a hill, but my 1.2i i got now i got 115mph out of it on a level straight, i never had a clue to wot it was either lol.

if its a 93 it will be a 1.4i 8v LS they didnt make a 16v 1.4 LS

they had a top speed of 96 so assuming ur engine has lost some power since 1993 that will be why
and the automatic modle was only 90mph top speed

on the plus side it had a high torque engine, altho im not excly sure how much torque it had more than the merrit or the flair
the only other 1.4i 8v was the SRI n that has 90bhp engine.
