ok i have a corsa b 1.2 8v twist and the clutch is at the end of its life.the engine was never much good wen i got the car. i did the head gasket and changed the shims and sparks and oil on the engine all my self.i never have done this before but i have some good exsperience with engines but its motorbikes i work on not cars. now for the price of a new clutch and to have it fitted i mayaswell have a new engine iv been offered a 1.4 16v sport engine with a brand new clutch in it that has been sat in a friends garage for a long time and he has offered it me for 60quid(yes thats cheaaaap! ) the engine has the gear box in it all the wiring he said it will be everything i need. im not so sure because its a 16v it is fuel injected unlike my 8v that uses a carb? will it all go straight in. does anyone know anything il need all i know the engine has is all wiring, the ecu(superchipped), the gearbox, alternator generator, the exhaust manifold,de cat pipe, i think the shafts are their too. does anyone know anything else il need? sorry about the life story their
thanks agen

you will need a 16v drivers side mount, and i think thats it...the rest will just go straight in. I'm not sure on the exhaust, whether you'll need to get a 16v cat...coz the manifold routing under the sump is different i think...but no, its pretty much str8 in!

Re: help with engine swap! 1.2 8v to 1.4 16v
is quite hard as u will need aditional tools and a crane to lift the engine out, (or the car up over the engine)
but if u have a haynes book it does tell u step by step how to remove and refit an engine
