Upgrade from manual to electric windows & mirrors

Post by baz08 »

hi all, after browsing through several posts on this topic, av gotten a bit curious as to the possibility of a few things, now i have checked my multiplugs and they only the two wires in it for the speakers, and i was wondering if it is possible that the wiring for electric windows and mirrors is actually in my car but has not been routed to the mutiplugs and is simply taped up or cable tied somewhere like behind the panel the houses the ECU in the drivers foot well, or behind the fuse box etc, if this were the case all that would be required would be plugging it in on both sides, other wise it would be a case of simply getting as much of the multiplug wiring from a scrapped car, then extending and linking it to the passenger side, then simply tap in to a switched live or attempt to connect to the fuse box, and fuse to 30Amps.

A may have a check if it is possible if a get some feedback, also anyone who has hard wired this upgrade in to their corsa beofre if you could send some pics or some diagrams or something for a few pointers on the wiring aspects, i would be very very grateful, thanks all

really not sure buddy
if you get a haynes manual it will have all the wiring diagrams so if you have no wiring for them atleast you have a place to start

its all i have sorry mate!
think the electric mirrors would be easier as it would only need the swich to move them and the wires, wheres as the windows u would need the motors n evything

thanks for the reply mate, av got most of the kit needed to do the upgrade, just need a few more things, its just the wiring that would be the complicated part, which is why a posted the topic as it would have made life a bit easier lol, out of curiosity tho, did vauxhall ever make a habit of doing things like the question i asked like not connecting up the wires for things that werent an option on a particular model, mines a 96 Corsa Premier, or were there different looms used entirely for the lower spec cars?, thanks

im not sure its worth checking, alot of vauxhall cars already had all the wiring for the anciliarys but without the anciliarys themselfs
that way they keep the same wireing loom rather than having a diffrent one for each modle, so its a fiar bet that most of the wiring is all there, probably just need connectin to the fuse box and the swiches/relays to make it all work!
