Voltage problem
Occasionally my ABS and Airbag lights come on and the headlights get brighter on my 1.5TD. Obviously alternator/regulator problem kicking out too many volts, anyone else had this problem. Oh, I promise never to ask about fitting a dump valve

Re: Voltage problem
the easiest way to fit the dumpvalve is to get an intercooler with a pipe that has a manifold for a dump valve lol also ur car should be a lot quicker as the time for the turbo to build boost back up will be almost 0 lol
so now u will never have to ask!!
about the alternator... mibby there is a problem with the wiring for ur abs..... but u would really need to have a look into that if its annoying u

Re: Voltage problem
Thanks for that but I was thinking of fitting one of those audio units for impressive dump whooshes, all the cool kids have them! I measured the voltage when the fault occurs and its jumps to 17.6v, not good. Looks like a grossly overpriced new alternator is needed which means no whoosy sounds for me!
