Idling problem help! 1.4 16v

Post by kevCorsaSri »

By any chance would anyone be able to help me on a problem I have with my car, my idleing seems to be funny meaning it just over rev's all the time at irregular revs hits 2000rpm then sometimes 3000rpm, I have cleaned my idle control valve out with carb cleaner which did help for a little while but it has just re-occurred again!

Got any ideas on how to fix it without having to replace the idling control valve??

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks.

Yeh I tell you what I hope your right about the inlet manifold cos i have just noticed when removing the manifold to clean ICV out like a corner of the manifold had cracked off!

I'am trying to make a deal with another site member for a replacement....I hope that resolves the problem! :?

Thanks for the info mate

problem solved now ended up being the inlet manifold, good as new now running sweet on a x16xe inlet manifold and noticed a slight power gain higher up the rev range. :)
