Re: What size alloys and tyre?
The larger size wheels only decrease you acceleration it doesn't impied the performance at the top end.
Think of it like a mountain bike, when you use the easiest gear on the bike you accleration is better but your top end speed is decreased. If you use the hardest gear on the bike you acceleration decreases but you top end speed is better and the engine doesn't need to work as hard to maintain it.

Re: What size alloys and tyre?
i have 2 cars atm, both wit 15's on...
My cesarios...195/50R15 dropped about 70..
And my new GSi, which is on Pro Race 1.2's and is dropped 50mm, hasnt been driven so yet to settle down...
15's are the best size imo. 195/50's. 40-50mm drop...perfect!

I agree, 15"s/16"s are the way forward, well I would say that as I've just bought these:

Mine's a V-reg, so slightly older than yours.
The wheels were £399.99 in Halfords, but I told them I could get them else where for £299.99 so they did a price match.
I'm quite happy with them.

Because it's cheaper to stick them on smaller wheels.CorsaTD wrote:14's are the best size

Re: What size alloys and tyre?
its not for all cars.... i was talking about the corsa... each car get different size wheels depending on how powerful / torquey it is.... the manufacturer give it a good wheel size to keep it economic ect and keep the spedo workign properly....
in this case i was talking about corsas because they were sold with 14" alloys... smart arse..

I get what ya mean 'CorsaTD', you are right but I don't regret at all getting my 15"s.
It's just a matter of taste and if you want bigger wheels, you're just gonna have to put up with a little bit of lost performance.

Re: What size alloys and tyre?
well can you explain to me why diff models within the corsas are sold with diff size wheels??
for example the club standard 13" and sxi standard 14"...so which size is best if they are the same car and same engine size?

Re: What size alloys and tyre?
have a look at spec i sure they have different power ratings, another reason is that the sxi is a more expensive model... so there for more luxuries
