FootWell Lighting

Post by pariAh »

Well i have seen many of my mates car with LED's in there footwells and you can pick up a kit from halfords from around 14£ but for this to work you must use the 12v socket, but on my car the socket inside the pulldown centre tower of the car just underneath the radio etc..

im driving the 2000 model of the 1.2 16v Club 3dr so i was wondering is there anyway else to do this without using the 12volt incar Cigarette lighter.. because the pulldown compartment wont shut if there is something using it...

suggestions please :)

thankyou

cut the plug off the LED(neons) and connect them from the back of the cig lighter. get a switch that is the same size as cig litgher, and make it neon switch? :D

soo.. hmmm im going to cut the LED(Neon) wire at the 12volt plug end?.. and then connect it to the black wire at the back of the 12volt socket?.. hmmm?.

would i still beable to use the socket for other things?..or would it dedicate its self to the Lighting?..

yeah cut the plug(should be red and black wires inside) connect to cig plug.. should be able to use the cig lighter aswell, but may overload if used together with neons although afaik neons dont use much power..

u could do that and solder it too, put tape around, or use block connectors and put tape over them. this will allow u to remove neons quickly without need to resolder.

ive done it put 1 light under each floor well then put the box with the switch into the tray that pulls down with the cigarett lighter, but first remove the tray and take out the cigarett lighter socket and wire them to the wires on the lighter socket then put it all back in place and ur sorted

my mate did this in his 106, just wire it into the sidelights, not sure how he did it, but he also put a switch on the dash so he could drive with lights on, but not the footwell lights

sounds a bit comlicated i know
