automatic assistance

Post by nick eager »

Hi,

|'ve recently purchased a 1.4 automatic s reg without the user manual , could someone tell me what the 's' button is on the gear selector, also what the 'snowflake' button is for near the handbrake.

thanks,

Hi Nick

The 'S' button on the top of the shifter is to turn on/off Sport mode. It basically stops the gearbox changing up at around 5300rpm and instead runs to the limiter, also keeps the revs higher when you lift off instead of the usual automatic 'coasting' feature.

The Snowflake button is added traction assistance for when its snowy or loose mud. It makes the car pull off in 3rd gear so reducing the chance of slip, and automatically shuts down when you reach 30mph or press the button again.
All the above comments are deemed an opinion, and in most cases :spam:
