Carabic Blue GSi (Rusty Mc Rust)

Post by richardhhha »

hay peeps thought i'd share my project with you all.. see how bad you think this is lol

well basicaly i bought a GSi about 8 months ago it has had a C20XE conversion done with F20cr box, all done lagit with V5 and insurance stating its a 2.0L

now this is what it was like when i got it home and had a look at a few things as it was missing a little under full throttle.

found the disy cap to be cracked and the spark plug tops to be almost all the way off....
Image replaced cap and screwed the tops back on properly.. and it ran fine

didnt look to bad really did it :P

now for the horible part... i found that i bought a total rust bucket.. that had been hacked to poo i felt sick

the front arches had had the same treatment... bloody bodging gits who dont know what they were doing.. well i set about fixing the simple parts.. new front wing, new rear lights, new rear bumper, new side repeaters, and fixed the front bumper..

me pop's cut his finger on the sharp arches donk off

then i set about fixing the really annoying bits like the inner arch damage... turned out after cleaning it up and killing a angle grinder than we had our work cut out for us... took it to a fair few bodyshops and they were wanting on average about £600 per side to weld it up.... f**k that i thought so out come the ally mesh and fiberglass :P

thats the last images of it atm... i have done a bit more over the last week where i have been off like cut the tailgait's rust out and mesh it fiberglass the hole, filler is on it now so am waiting for my pop to get back from his holiday so he can sand it to be perfictly smooth.. i have got the gront bumper back on it now aswell..

only problem im really having is now the engine is hanging on its revs should be something simple like a gummed up ICV or butterfly so im going to strip the throttle body and clean it all...

hope this makes you laugh... word of warning to people.... please make sure the car you buy has been fully checked out.. preferebly by a sertified vehicle inspector.. then you wont fall into the same trap i have.
