Scrubbing

Post by petert07 »

Im just about to lower my SRi 60mm on the front.
Atm, thats fine cos i have the standard steelies - 165/65 R14, but i plan on getting alloys - 195/50 R15
So, with a 60mm drop, will I have any trouble with scrubbing? i really dont wanna be shreding expensive rubber (im quite anal and will only have decent tyres - Toyo Proxes or Godyear Eagle F1!)

any help is much apriciated!!

Yeah mate .. depends what wheels you get ... go for the right offset and get some 6.5" wide wheels .. they fit inside the arches nicley and you can drop it low ... .. you do need low profile's to drop it that low also !!!!! go for it ..60mm looks gr8 on a corsa and especially when you can tuck some nice alloys under the arch!!

i'll be having 195/50 tyres on the front will that be a low enough profile or will i have to go 45, or less??

naa 50's are ok on the front !!!! and i think you have 7 inch wide wheels .. these will be ok though ...just lower it 40 on the back .. (will look great with 7" width) and you can still lower this about 60 on the front ... !!!
