Allloys Offset Corsa B Advice Please

AJust bought my first Corsa (1st car)

I need to get tyres on (they are illegal and split in 1) to get it to mechanic friend for pre test look over.

As I am changing to alloys no point getting tyres on the steel wheels.

Problem I am having is finding 15" alloys with 49/45 offset easily available, like now.

Nearest I have found is et40 on Wolfrace Katana, I am not lowering straight away but intend to lower maybe 40mm in the future.

Will an et40 offset give me any problems with unlowered vehicle, will they look ok. Just reading through some threads it seems to be a problem, or is this just with larger wheels.

Any advice and comments appreciated

yeah 15" will b ok ..ofsett is 38 ..or maybe 49 not sure 100% save money and get some vauxhall wheels ..like cav or calibra or astra ones .. they look the nuts and subtle !!!!!! cheaper aswell!!

yeah you can get a great set of corsa alloys and have them powder coated

and they will look the dogs dangilys

Standard offset is ET49. The katanas will go on, but i can pretty much guarantee you will have problems when you lower it!

ET45 is normally the closest you will get wit aftermarket alloys, and that will be fine! Vauxhall alloys are the best tho for lowering. Some Cesaros, Slabs or other cav wheels are all ET49, astra ones are ET46.

Thanks for the advice and confirming ET45/49 is best.

Would have liked to get some Vauxhall alloys but needed some legal rubber on the car and could not wait, also wanted to get some shiny alloys on it. So bit the bullet and ordered some new off ebay, they are ET40 and it looks like only the rear would cause an issue when lowered, but I won't be going mad with that.

Have replaced 1 disc and pads, other to do tomorrow, couldn't wait so have got 3 of the new alloys on I think they look good and will certainly do while I kerb it many times while learning to drive and I can take my time and find some Vauxhalls.

Will post some pics tomorrow, don't be too harsh if you think they are sh1t but comments still welcome.
