i had an astra which had an airbag steering wheel which was removed in favour of a altnerative wheel. Never had a problem with the mot. It is not a requirement that you have to have one, afaik.

To remove wheel, disconnect battery wait 5 mins, then remove air bag from wheel, carefully! Then just remove wheel as normal. They are fairly easy to remove.

The airbag light will be on once removed, you can link it out or just remove the bulb!

hope this helps

on the astra there were two small holes round the back of the steering wheel, which led to t-20 screws, once undone the air bag came out from the front. Corsa may be similar. have u not got a haynes manual?

NA NA NA .. YOU HAVE IT ALL WRONG......the airbag will come out ... not sure how tho(mine was pre-airbag) ....BUT... removing the wheel is not easy and i promise you won't do it without a set of pullers...and they are special steering wheel pullers that will only fit vaux wheels .... not expenseive (ebay .. i have a set) once the wheel is off... if you are replacing with a sports wheel .... the hub/boss that you put on 1st will have a connector for your yellow airbag wire.. this will keep the airbag light off....and your airbag ... take it to a scrappy instantly ..did you know you can actully get in trouble for having one incorrectly stored in domestic premesis coz they r dangerous!!!! 8) ..it wont fail MOT btw!!!!! .....if you are replacing with a standard vauxhall wheel ....you wont get the light to go out unless you take the bulb out(fine) ....or cut the wire ( logs a fault on ur ECU dont ya know :) ) ......... there we go lol !!!!1

if you are going to take the airbag out make sure u disconnect the batt for atleast 40 minutes

as the airbag will go off and will hurt lol

and u dont neeed pullers but they do come in very very usefull lol

its a badger of a job lol

but if i were you id just see an auto electrition about turning the airbag light off lol

i wouldnt just cut the wires or take the bulb out just get it done properly :)
