corsa 1.0 12v hard to start
hi,i have a corsa envoy 1.0 12valve,i have just had a new waterpump fitted, shortly afterwards it is now hard to start,it turns over and trys to fire,it will then run with the starter motor still engaging but if you let the key back off to normal position it stops running,i can usually feather the throttle and it will pick up and run.it smells of petrol whilst turning over.it runs lovely when started.pulls well,70/80 mph etc.could it be crank sensor?the ignition light stays out.does not come on.

could be mate, could of left something unplugged when the water pump was changed, could also be a fueling problem, i have heard 1.0l 12v 3cylinder engines arent the greatest for reliability, others may argue with me but its only wot i know from experience.

Re: corsa 1.0 12v hard to start
sounds exactly like what was wrong with mine, was the idle valve.
i never botherd fixing it just like you said featherd throttle to start it.
mine was a 12ver too btw

i agree , idle control valve, common fault i think, if you put your foot slightly on the gas when starting you should be ok? i have the same sort of problem lol
