Heating problem...

Post by sacko200 »

The heat from my blowers takes ages to come through. I can have the blowers running for about 15 miles until any heat starts to come through even if i have the blowers on full and the heating at max. Also the engine temperature takes about 15 miles to move off the bottom of the temperature gauge. Even then it only goes to about 88 degrees. I am thinking that these two problems might be connected and that the thermostat is faulty. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

sam.

I think i may have the same problem. I normally start my car up in the mornin 5-10mins before i leave the house an it still takes another 10minutes of drivin till it heats up, this is only recently tho as it used to heat up really quickly. Also sometimes it will warm up a little bit then start blowing out cold air again...?? :meh:

Sounds like there maybe an air lock in the heater matrix, therefor not warming up to pass warm air though.

Dont forget the slider for changing where the air is being taken from. With it to the right, the air will be noticibly warmer, and will warm up faster than if the sliders is to the left. However it will mist up the screen....

Yep... thats spot on normal for a corsa b!! They only just go into the scale when driving normally... may push up mid scale when in heavy traffic. It is noticable when the fan cuts in to cool it down... makes a nice whirring noise! Hope this decreases your worries!

Noticed on my car last night that my temperate gauge keeps going up really quickly, even when driving it will just randomly go up then go back down again. A mate had a look at it and said it was probably the thermostat is f**k or it could just need anti-freeze. Guna get both sorted today and hope for the best!!
