Hi There, I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this.
Recently my right rear tail light won't come on straight away, I have to turn my lights on, open the door and then close the door to get it to come on.
i can only think this is somehow related to the door contact switch or alarm but I have had it all out and tested the conductivity with my multimeter, it's completely baffled me.
I'm not massively worried at the moment because the MOT isn't due till july but it would be nice to solve this one
Thanks in advance
Mike

Re: Tail light issue
try getting someone to put there foot on the brake...then bang the light quite hard...might fix it..it works if u have a bulb blow-it somehow melts the filament back together.

Don't want to sound like a dick, but you can't fix a bulb by punching it lol
Anyone else care to chip in?

Re: Tail light issue
Hmm, after lots of thinking i've decided to replace the standard bulbs for brake and tail light with LED bulbs, which draw less power and have the nice advantage of being brighter than the normal bulbs. I'm then going to run some flex over from the left side and solder the power from the left tail lamp to the right. I don't really have enough time to trace the wiring all the way through the bodywork/panels to find whats gone wrong but this should fix it nice and easy.

Re: Tail light issue
trust me if u have a bulb go..try it i didnt belive it til someone showed me...its not a permanent fix but will get u out of trouble until u can replace the bulb...
the way it works is that usually wen a bulb has blown...its coz the filament has broken contact...so when u apply the brake it surges power to it-causing heat..then when u hit it..the filament makes contact and burns back on...strange i kno lol..but it works :)
