So basically i thikn the ignition barrel is won out inside or sumin cos the headunit will only power on when i push the key and wedge it into the ignition area. the car starts fine and the key turns fine in the barrel. No fuses blown from doin this and done it for bout a month or so now. before it came to this i had to "wiggle" the key in the ignition in order to get the headunit to power on. I have replaced the unit and tried both and same symptoms with both...nuthin wrong with the headunit.
Anyone else have the same problem or know what i should do? I dont think it the live feed...will any locksmith be able to reset/change the picks/teeth so that they work with my current key? Or is there specific locksmiths for this kind of thing?

Sounds like you need a new ignition barrel to me mate I know vauxhall can make the barrel for the key but a locksmith would be my first call.
