well looking to have a project and make a track weapon.....

but could use it as a donor for some parts...

how much does an xe engine cost on average?

with gearbox and driveshaft

or wud there be something better to put in it?

Are u a mechanic then or u planning on payin for it to be done in a garage?
Cos unless u got like stupid amounts of money to throw at it then it not really worth the expense of buyin it and tryin to find a rear end for it; or make one. Either way you probably be better off tryin to find a whole car to start with. That way if u really just want to get it on track pretty fast...i.e before it fully cosmetically finished etc. all you will have to focus on is the wheels, brakes, suspension, strut bars etc. and engine, exhaust, nos, watever else etc. Just rip out the inside and shove in a bucket seat or two and roll cage to reduce weight. Then u can take it out on the track see and see what it like somewhat sooner than if u gotta do a body rebuild aswell.
I dont know how old u are but if it gonna be powerful/fast then u might take it off the track (not tryin to suggest that u a bad driver, but i know probably would lol)...if u dont have bodykit, custom paint etc maybe it wont hurt so much if there eva was a crash as will be cheaper to replace/repair. That and would be awsome/funny to see a clapped out lookin corsa b just raggin it round some track past all well expensive cosmetically focused sports cars.
