Central Locking Needed!

Post by woodseycorsa »

I got a P reg '96 Corsa Merit. This comes as standard without any form of central locking at all. Are there any good kits I can get to upgrade to remote central locking with an alarm. Can't be driving around in my moded corsa if i have to go round and open all doors manualy LOL! :meh:

Cheers

i know exactly wot u meen mate lol!!! ive got a 2000 reg corsa b and it came as standard with central locking but ive since upgraded it to 'remote' central locking. must admit it wasnt easy fitting but deffinetly worth it the kit i bought cost around £15 similar to this 1 but without the actuators:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UNIVERSAL-REMOTE- ... 240%3A1308

but obviously if it hasnt originally got central locking you will need a kit with actuators never tried fitting actuators but if you need help with the keyless part giv me a shout!!!....... hope this helps..

Wow dude how hard is this kit to fit? looks like something i'd want!

ive already got central locking so i guess that makes the job easier....
Thats not a dent.... its an aerodynamic mod :P

Well its pretty hard to fit however if you have a few basic electronic skills it can be made easy there is a lot of wiring involved in it but if you did get hold of one and needed me to go through the stages for you let me know and il b happy to help!! .....

I got my alarm installed and baught the kit to install the central locking and long story short it is a stupid amount of effort on my corsa (1994 LS 5 door)

The solenoids don't quite fit in the rear doors so there has to be alot of precision tweeking done.
There is nowhere to secure the solenoids on the rear doors without making something.
The doors have to come off so you can drill through the door gators for the wiring.

And the list goes on. It shouldn't be half as bad on a 3-door though. But it can be done. If not installation costs around £150 + parts around my area.

GO FOR IT.

It's a real pain having a 5 door and pushing all the locks down every time.

Sorry for a slight delay, been away for a while!

Cheers, that kit looks pretty sound if i can find some acctuators, just sick of locking and unlocking every door all the time! Laziness has prevailed!

Cheers!
