hi there,
my handbrake doesnt work anymore which is especially gutting when all this snow is everywhere! the thing is, the handbrake becomes stiffer gradually as i pull it up so i'm guessing it doesnt need tightened. i think it's maybe the drum pads or whatever. what do you guys think? and how much would i be to get this done at a garage? thanks
handbrake gone, because of drums?

Without looking i'd suspest the handbrake cable to be frayed in the quadrents causing the stiffness or poss one side has broken. Jack the car up and follow the handbrake cables, see if they are broke. Get it booked in somewhere for a free brake check.

thanks i'll get that checked out. is it possible it could be the drum pads though? because i can sort of hear a grinding from the back when i brake normally.

Possible yeah, if so you want to be carefull as the liner on the shoes could come adrift thus causing your brake to lock on. If your competant in taking the drum off to have a butchers, but if not get it booked in asap.
