Removing a window winder

Post by g face »

Just got round to taking the door trim off to fit central locking and I cant remove the window handle.

In car's I have done this with in the past there has been a screw or a spring but in my corsa theres nothing.

Anyone got any idea's? I cannot get to the locking mechanism without taking the trim off and this is the one thing holding it on. I am not a happy bunny.

yeah there is a u clip mate. The easiest way to get the clip off is to get a little bit of material...like a strip of cotton or stip of j-cloth then push the trim in towards the door. there is a round plastic bit at the back that acts as a kind of big washer so u cant see the edging of the trim. push that back aswell....u should be able to see the window winder rod a bit now. Then just slip the cloth into the gap between the washer thing and the winder....just kind of rub the cloth round as if u were tryin to polish the handle lol....the clip should catch onto the material and kind of ping off. Be carefull u dont loose it though....wen i did it i ended up lookin round on the ground for like 15 mins. once the clip off the handle just pulls off. I hope this helps u buddy.
