lol..."melts the wires" and more than once! I think ur best bet with that m8 it to run em off the live feed that for the lighter socket. just unscrew the ashtray bit (one screw on each corner) then splice the red live feed and hey presto u got power source from in the car that not gonna melt from engine heat or too much power meltin em. Although there are others on here that may have done it differently...lol...like 9v RC controller batteries!

yeah yeah wicked! do the 12v lighter feed, and hook it up to little switches u can buy off ebay and put them on the plastic bit between the ashtray and the gearstick if you know what i mean? run the wires under there into switches. then you can control the neons with that. ive got switches for the footwell neons, rear side window neons, undercar neons and bass! oh and i have a spare switch, not sure what to wire it up to yet...

I have UV Neons in my footwells, they were sexy when you wore white shoes. I wired them up with a switch to the rear of the cigarette lighter but they blew because the fuse was in the cigarette connector thing and in order to wire it up i cut it out. So i just send them back and got a refund, even though i had destroyed them and didnt have any packaging 8)

btw the reson your wire keeps melting is that is obv can not handle the 12v so you could just get some higher voltage cable and it should work fine

probs good u did break it lol such pieces of crap i have neva seen before. They are litterally only worthy of being givin away for free with maxpower!!  They are so cheap and people only eva seem to put one in then completley ignore the insallin em in the rest of the car. If u gonna get neons it gotta be a engine, boot and interior install! not just footwells lol.

i grown out of that stuff,
no point doing silly little mods like that i say, spend your money on power!

that said we once wired some red ones to his brake lights looked good alternative to a 3rd brake light
