stereo wires
my stereo wires have been cut, there is all these different wires but ive bought some stereo wires from scrap yard to wire from wires into a plug, the yellow wires go straight together and red on red and brown on brown, this turns stereo on but none of buttons work on it or it just sparks and blows main fuse, my corsa is a 1997 and took wires from a 1996 or 95, it should be a straight wiring process but somehow doesnt work, any ideas, save me 60 quid

maybe just get a stereo from the scrappy with the wires on?

You can get pin diagrams for the stereo. If any of the wires are in the wrong place on the pins then it will blow like that. If there are sparks coming then there deffinately is a dodgy connection which needs to be looked at. Have a look at a car stereo website and see if you can check which type of plug it is and wire it from there.
