Hey peeps , just signed up to this forum, and am a bit rusty with all me corsa jargon and the usual problems you find with them. Im hoping one of you can help me with my problem, it might sound a bit distant and it could be anything, but here goes. Basically my corsa 1.2 is getting very old, 96000 old , and not been getting any problems with it at all, good lil runner, however, ive been having some problems when i pull off from low revs, as if the engine just doesnt wanna go. When i put my foot down (in any gear) the car splutters, and jumps with power!! (lol in a 1.2) then goes nowhere, does this a few times before it gets going again, sometimes the revs fly up and the car does 30mph in 3rd gear going into 5 - 6000 revs, lol, i know the car's insane!!!! lol, soo if anybody can help me with such a bizzare problem, would be cool, any suggestions please!?
Cheers
Matt

Re: Running Problem?!?!?!
fuels injectors could be blocked/gunked up a bit so engine not gettin good distribution of spray at lower revs/lower fuel pressure, get some redex petrol fuel injector cleaner petrol additive; or the air filter could be in need of change if not been done for a long time as if too dirty it will starve engine of well needed oxygen. Could be sumin worse than this but there are two pretty simple things u could try doin urself that might help resolve the problem. Otherwise if u dont know much about car engines i would take it to garage for an inspection if it really bothers u that much lol. and 96,000 aint that huge amount of mileage....should still potentially get about another 50,000 with relaitve ease i rekon...even for a petrol car.

Re: Running Problem?!?!?!
Firsty I would give the idle control valve a clean with carb cleaner as this can sometime have a mind of thier own and cause your engine to rev withoout touching the pedal. or sometime the revs drop and ur car dies while idling. If cleaning doesnt work you can get new one prety cheap.
Is it 8v or 16v if its a 16v then it could be the air mass flow meter I have heard poeple with similar problems when this is failing these cost more than the idle control vavle so try that first.
have you installed an aftermarket induction kit as these can cause flat spots if the cold air isnt routed to them. if you just have a cone under the bonnet then it sucks in warm air from around the engine which gives you flat spots.

hey guys, cheers for the suggestions, will try all f them, I have heard that it could be the injectors, but all I can do for now a try everything. It's an 8 valve, and I do have an induction kit fitted, maybe ishould change back to the air box to see what goes on, cheers anyway peeps, will keep you posted with who was right!
