Hi all, My daughter has a Corsa B 1 ltr 1999 model and the engine management light flashes on and off. I am confussed how to read the code for this car as I have looked up on the net the Paper clip method but I am not sure if this is possible on this model as around the year 2000 the system had changed and requires a diagnostic tool to read the codes.I have been also told that you can also read the codes by holding down the foot brake and throtle then turning on the ignition switch the light on the dash will flash.
Can anyone help in this problem as any information would be helpfull.
Many thanks John

Re: Code reading
sounds like an immobiliser fault matey, the light flashing usually signifies an immob prob , first thing to try is the spare key if you have 1,the keys are quite fragile if they are dropped the chip can move and then the sensor around the ignition barrel wont always pick up the signal from the key. try this first and see how it goes if i works you know the fault lies in that 1 key and it either needs a re prog or replacing with a new one hope this helps.

Re: Code reading
If it flashers and the engine won't start then it's the immobilizer that has a fault.
