Work if it is cold but ignition problem if it is operating t

Post by gaborgya »

HI All,
1 litre, 3 cyclinder, 1999
My Corsa perfectly works when it is cold. But as soon as it reached an operating temperature it seem to have ignition problems. I feel there is no spark or there are interraptions. What I do not understand why it is temperature dependent.
The sparks and plugs have been changed. This should not be the reason. When I stop and the engine and it is hot I am unable to start it again. That time the yellow light on the dasboard is on. If I wait until it cools down it works perfectly again.
I noticed that sometimes the relays behind the dash on the left seem to be clicking strange. Could it be the problem?
Maybe ignition coils?
I also noticed that the starting motor is rotating more than usual before it starts. It is because you can hear that the computer does not give it spark for a while.
Thank for advise.

Had a similar problem with mine but it woud start then warm but just. had to use the accelerator to get it going.

Mine was the ECU's temperature sensor that was causing the engine to over fuel it's self when warm therefor struggle to start. Garage chanced the temp sensor and problem solved. Dono if would be same for you tho. Worth a throught?

Thanks for reply. I think that might be the crank sensor.

If the EML comes on as you've said, check t=and see if it stores any codes.
