yet another 6x9 topic...

Post by kona1991 »

okay.. so in my car i have a decent head unit... pioneer cq-c1011n...
i have two speakers up front with the two tweeters in the door handles and i also have to stock rear speakers each side of the parcel shelf...

im looking to put two 6x9's in... now do i have to run cables from the headunit to them? or can i somehow connect to the cables going to the existing rear speakers?

cheers for any help guys :)

Hi mate, This is how you do it.
1) in your boot if you look inside at each end there should be some black covers. These are where the speaker wires from the existing speakers are hidden. Go in there are pull them off the existing speakers.

2) cut the holes in your parcel shelf dor your 6X9's

3) Attach the existing speaker cables to your new ones either using the existing wires as there were or some wire adaptors if you ripped the wires.

Shouldn't take long at all. :) hope it helps

he wants both speakers working I think.

In which case, it's best to run another wire to the boot from head unit.

both speakers do work if you use the existing wires and its easier than having to O_o around wth the old speakers 2. it depends where u wann out the 6X9's aswell.

okay so is there something i can buy that i can plug the existing cables into.. and it like turns it into two? (like an extension or household adapter type thing)..

otherwise i will have to like slice the wires.?

You can use the existing wires and a little wire adapter to attach them onto the new speaker wires you get with your 6X9's. This way you can just literally plug them inot the existing wire set. I'll try and get some pics fro you of what i did with mine.
