Scrubbing!

Post by peterm12345 »

I've got 40mm Apex lowering springs on my corsa,
but when ive got 2 or 3 people in the back the tyre rubs off the car! (especially over bumps)

afew guys have told me to get dampers or something..
anyone else had this problem?
what should i do/get to solve this?!

cheers!

well that would depend on the offset of the wheels, what wheels have you got on your car? :D

i had some 15's that rubbed due to being wrong offset! changed for vxl 15" softstars, no longer rub.

its just when people get in the back.. the back end drops a good few inches more and over bumps it bounces down more and scrapes :(
what are the things that only allow your springs to compress a certain amount? will they not help? (if they exist!)

yo exist but there crud mate there rubber inserts that u get from hallfords that stiffin up the ride but ur car will handle like a bus lol just get decent wheels mate ac droped mine 60mm and can have a full car (4 in the back once ) hehe and it didnt rub once. ur wheels may only be 15" but if the offset is wrong ( how far the wheels stickes out from the hub) it will rub so get some gd wheels like cavy gsi wheels or sumin off a vaux standerd ul get them no probs and usualy not to dear depending on wt u buy (or how tight the seller is) hehe good luck what ever u do

u are aware that most speed humps in the uk are designed so u hit em at 17mph and then u shouldnt get jumpy goin ova them. Just slow down when u got mates in the car goin ova humps and it wont scrape. are u sure it the wheels scrappin and not the chassis? see it all the time cos there loads of speed bumps on m road and taxis dont seem to care for slowin down at night
