lowering springs

was thinkin bout lowering me car . can i buy jus the springs or do i need to buy the shocks/dampers aswel as sum mong from motorworld told me i would duno if hes right or jus wants more my money lol any help would be appreciatedtarr

Right, there is indeed the two ways to do this. One is to just chuck springs on, and the other is the full kit.

If you were to just do the springs, it is the temporary and cheaper way to do it. However, you will over time knacker your standard dampers, and the bump/rebound will not be correct for the spring. This will result in your handling going to pot. If you are gonna do this, i wouldnt go any lower than 30/40mm.

A full kit however, would not only lower your car, but the dampers will be designed for the spring rate and the drop level. This would mean the car is taught through the bends and doesnt wallow on bumps and under braking. IMO, this is the way to do it, because then you have a car that isnt unbalanced and therefore responds when you try to do anything quickly on the road.

Just dont buy from motorworld ... get them off the web if need be.

Weitec
Spax
Eibach
Bilstein

All of these offer a 30/40mm drop, and some offer the 60mm.
