Corsa B F16 Drive Shafts??????

Hi all,am converting a 94 1.2 corsa b into a c20ne 2.0 8v with f16 gearbox.what drive shafts would anyone recommend?

you have to use 22 spline shafts (standard early spec 1.6) and inner CV's for a 2.0 mk2 cav. PJ16 i think the part number on the CV's is! :)

could i use my original 1.2 shafts and get the cav shafts machined on??? has anyone tryed this yet??

erm...no...but there is a reason. you start chopping at shafts and you destroy their strength. i would seriously advise against this.

can you get the c.v. joints you suggested to fit my 1.2 shafts or have i to get new shafts altogether.Very confussed.haha. :?

No dont use the std 1.2 shafts as they will snap. Use cav/astra mk 2/3 drive shaft and buy some motorsport hubs to fit the corsa or use the cav/astra ones BUT they have to be machined down to fit the corsa wheel bearing.

what engine or gearbox would the astra mk 3 have to be??

Id go 2ltr mate. I not to sure if the 1400/1600 are the same as 2ltr.

ok mate,cheers,think mite just get shafts and hubs from ebay as it seems to be the easiest option. 8)

You can use 1.5/1.7 diesel or 1.4/1.6 16v shafts with the cav mk2 inner joints, they will tak over 220 bhp and thats being abused all the time i've got them in my 2.016v corsa rally car and in my 2.08v nova road car :thumbs:

will the cav mk2 inner joints fit straight on the 1.6 16v shafts,also would you need the 1.6 hubs and bearings???
