Post by Milton »

I put a new battery in my corsa and now my radio wont work.
I think its reset because i unplugged my battery.
On the display "SAFE" appears whenever i turn it on?

Anyone got any ideas?

sounds like it was a coded Head Unit. You need to take it to a car audio shop and get it decoded.

There should be a 4 digit code. Have you got what looks like a credit card (which has 4 numbers on it) in the service booklet/radio manual etc

what make is your radio? you can find calculators online for some makes all you do is put in the serial code from on the back of the radio and it will calculate the the security code. I did it a few month ago when I took my battery out and realised I didnt know the code.

Right thats a good thing, you having the code.

Turn the radio on (and it will display code/safe)
Press the number 1 button, untill the number comes up which you need
Then press number 2, untill the number comes up which you need
Then number 3 and 4 untill you have the full code entered on the display.

Now i cant remember off hand weather you press number 5 or AU to accept the code into the radio. If you have the radio manual it will explain how to do it in there, with a little bit more detail.
