please can someone tell me how to put a profile picture up??

i guess you mean a avatar
click on user control pannel (top menu bar where it shows your messages)
then click the profile tab
then click edit avatar
make sure your pic is 125x125 pixels or smaller and no more than 15kb file size
browse to where it is on your computer
and hit submit
job done
