cheap mods!

Post by sarah_kate »

hi everyone, i have a w reg 1.0L corsa club. very tidy etc but i'm wanting to do some cheap mods to make it look a bit better etc. I'm gonna be brave and attempt to de-badge it today. Has anyone got a bonnet for sale or a front bumper because i had a bit of a smash into a bollard and it looks a bit nasty now! also, how do i put pics on my posts? cheers

debadgin is easy....but does require some v.hot water or bug/tar remover and a non-scratch kitchen pad sponge/scourer to remove the tar stuff. i wore a pair of thick pink kitchen gloves so i didnt burn my fingers lol! how trendy  as for the bonnet and bumper i would suggest lookin on yell.com for local scrappers and ask em for prices. A black plastic bumper from scrappers shouldnt set u back much more than £20-£25 and a bonnet maybe £40 -£50 depending on the state it is in. u should always try askin for the colour u need aswell....i just said bonnet...they gave me a green one when i could see several white ones...but they were a bit messy so i just paid for the green one to be resprayed at £90. the bumper is uber easy to remove and put on a new one...it only 5 screw bolts and 2 plastic nuts. two under the bonnet u can clearly see holding it in place and three on the underside of bumper at the front...u need to get on ur back to remove those ones. the problem is if u want to have it properly screwed in place behind the plastic wheel trims or just snap em and double back tape em down lol....i did this at first but they kpet comin loose so gave in a did it in couple hours cos it kinda requires removal of the wheel arch lining to get access to screw the nuts on and secure em in place. hope this helps

google in CAR BREAKERS LINCOLN,that should tell you of any breakers yards that do off the shelf parts,or try breakersyard.com and type in the details that you want for your corsa and they will e-mail you where and how much for your parts.

good to hear! i did the rub strips 1st and they were a pain in the butt to say the least. I only debaged the 1.2 bit and that was uber easy in comparison! :D
