I drive an N plate CDX and the bulb has gone behind my fan switches and is a nightmare to replace. i have heard that you need to change the fan switch to replace the bulb at around £30. In trying to remove the central fan switch I think i have broken the plastic pin connecting the rear heated window.
Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to replace this bulb.

Re: dashboard light
i swear every1 says its a bulb in the switch which is utter trollocks m8. there are 3 - 1.2v - bulbs behind the console. the rear window switch has pressure clips holdin it in place. eitherway the light that u see comin from it is the central one and the switch kinda slides ova it and has a couple relfectors that then direct the light into the switch at the heater pic bit.
you can get these bulbs from halfords for about £2 each. mine are green to match my interior
just takes some time and a hell of alot of patience. i did have a link to a tutorial walk through on opelownersclub but it appears to be down atm

Re: dashboard light
ive changed the rear heated window light and the ashtray light but cant locate the other two. do i need to remove the whole dash fascia to access them? im guessing the other two lights are for the heat regulator and direction switches. how easily is the dash removed if this is the case. do i need to remove the information display before i can get the frontage off?

Re: dashboard light
if u replaced the rear window one by popin it out so u could see its power supply plug and bulb with the rest of teh centre console in, then that not really how i would have done it. But yeah...the other two bulbs just light up the numbers and red -> blue heat bit really, and to do them u do idally need to remove the centre console im afraid.

You can get original replacement bulbs from Vauxhall for 62p each.
I think the facelifted corsa's 1997-2000 must be different behind the heater controls as mine had 2 bulbs behind the controls and 1 soldered inside the rear heated window switch itself. Had to take the hold switch apart just to replace it. Even tho soldered in a new one still haven't got it working again so just given up.

i guess so. i got a prefacelift and there no light inside the rear window heater switch. i know cos i too dimantled it when paintin it. it just reflects light from one the bulbs up into it....which is much better idea in my opinion.
