Centre vent removal problems

I dont like haynes method of removing the centre vents by wedging screwdrivers into it, ive tried and no matter how much tissue/card i use it leaves big dents in the vents and the fascia.. no matter how much force i use the vents dont come out properly and i feel ive damaged the interior trying

is there an easier way?

lol yeah....just use ur hands and if u push/tilt downwards at the right angle they just pop round and wont cause the plastic to scuff/dent or wateva u wanna call it. but tbh if u use a wide flathead it shouldnt cause this problem anyway!
