having just replaced cylinder head with one in better nick from dismantlers and lapping all valves etc etc re-assembled and the car has never gone as well but i replaced distributor and set it by ear!works for me !!but obviously it is not 100 per cent so if any one can help i need the dwell angle please :)

ive got 10degrees BTDC as the angle for timing belt in the haynes manual with firing order 1-3-4-2, although by the looks of things u have to do is; timing pointer on rear timing belt is aligned with the notch in the crankshaft pulley. The tip of the rotorarm points to the position occupied by the no1 cyclinder HT lead terminal in the cap. The rotor arm is aligned with the notch or the TDC arrow on the the dist. body.
hope that makes sense and posibly helps. it all the haynes says on the distributor that applies to what ur asking bout.

10deg BTDC without vacuum. 8)

Thanks for that .I might even have to upload a pic of the corsa so u can all have a laugh I did while i was painting it :lol:
