Wireing woes

Post by avgenisis »

Hopefully somebody can hekp me.

The stereo was removed from my corsa b (combo van) with wire cuttrers.

I have located the front L + R Speakers, ground and live (Red) wire. this leave another 12 or 13 chopped wires unaccounted for!

everything works as it should the MFD (simple time and temp one) is ok. so as the extra wires for the advanced one that plugged into the back of the 'posh' stereo?

also the lamps do no work/dim behind the vent panel , although all others including MFD do.

also the yellow (perminant live??) is dead which fuse feeds it? or where does it come from.

there does not seem to be anything else that does not work as it should so im stumped.

I will upload a pik as soon as i can figure out how.

any ideas, amny thanks in advance....

cheers m8,

only a rough idea is really necessary, as if it was a plug, then i can go to scrappy and pillage something to suit from a corsa car loom. it would be handy to know if any of them feed the vent, fan panel lights though..

can you also tell m if the live / switched live are fused and which fuse they come from.

many thanks in advance.

need to know engine type i.e.engine code, you can find this on the engine block, lift bonnet, from left hand side work to your right to the no1 cylinder, just below where the head connects to the block there is a little flat spot on the block just above the exhaust manifold, clean of with a rag and you shall see some numbers stamped into the block, nearest the exhaust manifold will be the engine code followed by a series of numbers (engine number),i require the code to make sure i have right daigram.

I had a look at my wiring diagram and this is what I can make out.

Speaker front left + Blue
Speaker front left - Blue/Brown
Speaker front right + Yellow
Speaker front right - Yellow/Brown
Speaker rear left + Green
Speaker rear left - Green/Brown
Speaker rear right + White
Speaker rear right - White/Brown
Live Red
Illumination lights Brown/Green
Ground Brown
Ignition Red
Telephone mute Black
Automatic arial Black/White

This is just from what I can make out from a diagram so may not be correct as im sure I donlt think there would be two red wires and two brown/green wires.

any extra wires could be for steering wheel controls or CD changer controls or most likely as its a van telepone controls
