Post by con »

Hi guys
I am new to the forum I have just got a 99 corsa b for my daugher
the clutch is slipping (hence to good price)
my question is on older opels you could change the clutch without removal of the gearbox
is the 1.0 3yl corsa the same?

hi m8 , impritty sure the gear locator has snapped as mine did ( had to go in reverse to go in first lol) easy replacement . make sure however you get one out out the same engine 1.0l etc and type older model or face lift if you get me.

Hi mate ive got an older 8v corsa but it says in my haynes manual that the newer double over head cam engines have a pot flywheel that the clutch assembly is recesses into which means gearbox has to come out.

This information is from a pre 97 haynes manual before the 1l 3cyl was used so it may not be accurate.

Try adjusting the clutch cable it may give you a bit extra bite.

Had a peek at my 97-00 haynes manual, it also says the gearbox has to come out to remove the clutch assembly.
