As the title says i was thinking of lowering my ride on steelies (dont ask y, i just think it will look individual and funky lol). I was wondering how much i can lower it by so they won't rub on my arches (i know with 3 people in the back the wheels are about an inch or so inside of the arches)? Also any tips you'd recommend for doing this
Thanks every1

Re: Lowering on steelies?
Wow nice. How would you recommend doing that then? Say i want to lower it 80mm. What would i have to change - springs, shocks, dampers or all three? And would there be any other problems and things to change if im going that low. Also where can i find springs that lower that much - ive had a luk on a couple of sites and ebay and the most ive found is coilovers that go to 70mm
Thanks again
Thanks again

Re: Lowering on steelies?
well you can just by a lower kit that includes everythink, well in my opinion i wouldnt go low as tha with roads and speed bumps these days . if i wer you id get fixed 60mm on bk and full 70 adjustable for front . cuz any lower and youll struggle wen it come to gettin new wheels. otha option is gettin a dear coilover kit with both front and bk adjustable

Re: Lowering on steelies?
Lol yeh i was thinkin white or a nice gloss black for them wud luk quite gd. And that 209 quid kit: does it include everything i need and is it a gd, high quality brand? Also what benefits wud it give to my handling, like wud it make it significantly more stable and hold the road better or is it just mainly for cosmetic purposes? One last thing how many hours do u think a garage wud take to get it all fitted? obv the costs will vary from garage 2 garage but the time shud be quite consistant

Re: Lowering on steelies?
yer would give better handling even on steelies , all round it makes the car alot better . if your car silver/white/green/gold should paint em black , if its red/blue/black do em white m8 . just put the lowering kit on your self , chrex has done a step by step sumwer . and plus youll have instructions. dnt go to a garage will rip you off big style .

Re: Lowering on steelies?
Yeh i had a luk at those instructions but for me that luks pretty complicated - im a bit of an ass when it comes to car mechanics tbh and with something as important and relevant to safety as suspension im thinking it might be better to get it done properly incase i screw up - the last thing i want is my suspension falling apart when im doing 70 or so on a motorway. Would you still recommend i gave it a go myself though ?

Re: Lowering on steelies?
well tbh it is pritty simple once you read the instructions thouroghly . but just get some one to help you with it. and make sure you use the right tools . mainly a spring compressor . but give it a shot , try it and if its too hard then take it m8y
