Removing Fusebox

Post by RenRenRen »

Anybody know how to do this? Haynes says just take out the lower 2 screws and slide it out, but it seems to be held in by some magical force =\

It moves about half an inch with some forcing, then no more. From the looks of the clips at the bottom it needs to be tilted and lifted out, but it just doesn't budge. Had my head under there trying to see if anything was holding it but there's not a whole lot to see.

Would be nice to wire into it properly into the back, but if I can't get it out I'll probably use a fuse tap or something.

there are various plugs connected from the wiring loom at the back of the fuse box. the loom commonly is taped all together and so is quite stiff. u need to unplug em all at the back of the fuse box or it wont come out. better still remove the driver side vent and light controls ten u can get more light, better leverage and easier to remove the plugs at the back. it is well tedious though as i found out myself not that long ago ;)

Thanks, I'll try removing the light controls and vent. I'm trying to connect to the central locking fuse (far top right, currently unused but has a live feed) so with some luck I might be able to do it through there without removing the fusebox itself :D
