Triple display central pod on dashboard outside temp help

Post by shark1e »

Hi all, just wondered if anyone can help please with i think you call if the MFD or triple display clock etc,

My trusty old N (95) 1.5D merit, is as basic as they could come but hey it's cheap on mileage lol

anyway i need help with the wiring for the pod etc, i found the loom clipped behind heater controls and plugged it in to the triple display, ok i have clock and date working great, and comes on when ignition turned on and goes out when ignition turns off, so wicked nearly there.

i can't get the outside temp to register on the display, i got a sensor for the bumper from scrappy and fitted no problems as multiplug was taped to inner bumper mounts,

now what i have found is that what looks like hanibal the canibal must have been a previous owner, because they have chopped some wires in a loom behind the radio, :( now i need to know which colour in this bunch of wires goes to i think pin 17 of the triple display etc if i'm correct that is, i see in the manual that 3 wires are needed for the outside temp cirucit, 2 go to the sensor, and one from the old now gone radio multiblock to the plug that goes in to the triple display etc,

would i be right that this single wire picks up power from the radio circuit on the key ignition pos 2 i think? so if i'm right then maybe the wire is in this last 5 wires loose under dash and should be a switched 12v circuit?

by the way i had bad radio reception until i found out that 2 of these wires dangling belonged to the aerial amplifier lol now fixed! just earthed the one and added the other to the new sony head unit remote power wire for amps etc, as soon as head unit is turned on, it powers the aerial amplifier,

hope someone knows trheir stuff on here with corsa wiring, as would be much appreciated to get it fixed.

thanks rob

pins 2 and 4 you need for the temp
im pretty sure it dosnt take any power from the back of the radio, usualy that wire from the hed unit to the MFD is for the RDS signal
pin 1 is 12 power and pin 3 is ground
2 and 4 is for temp display you should just wire it to these 2 pins
